Gold Medal Results at WGI


 

Winter Guard International completed its competitive season and MEPA was once again, well represented. The color guard championships saw four units in finals competition with one earning a medal. In the Independent Open Class, Juxtaposition earned a bronze medal finishing 3rd. In the Scholastic World Class, Centerville High School finished 12th while Miamisburg finished 9th. Finally, in the Independent World Class, Zydeco finished 7th.

 

The Mid East Performance Association also saw many of its percussion ensembles competing in Dayton this past weekend with 5 units performing in finals competition and two of those earning medals.

 

In the Scholastic A class, Thomas Worthington High School finished in 2nd place earning a silver medal. In Scholastic Open Class, Kings High School took 6th place honors and Centerville High School finished in 15th place in the Scholastic World Class. Finally, in Independent World Class, Matrix finished in 10th place while Rhythm X became the first unit in more than a decade to win back to back gold medals in their class.

 

Congratulations to all of these award winning units and to all units performing at the WGI World Championships. MEPA continues to be the home of many of the finest percussion ensembles and winter guards in the nation!
